About me - Silvia Helm-Browne

Doula birth support in the area of Frankfurt, Bad Nauheim, Wiesbaden and the surrounding area.

My name is Silvia Helm-Browne and I was born in 1965.

I am a mother of six wonderful children and grandmother of two beautiful girls.

I believe that birth is natural and what our bodies were uniquely designed to do, but birth is also beautiful when a mom can look back and know that she did everything she could, she was heard and that she was respected, no matter how the birth unfolds.

I believe in you and your ability to birth your baby, I will simply be there to remind you of the power you hold within to do so.

Birth brings out a lot of truths that can be challenging to process. It is also an absolutely powerful event that leaves you changed forever.

Will my doula take over the role of my partner?

As a doula, I will not take over the role of your partner. I am there to fill in. I am there to enhance your methods of coping. I am there to empower you and to empower your partner.

Experience

I have been supporting pregnant couples from many different cultures for many  years and supported them before, during and after birth.
I have given breastfeeding support in the past 30 years to new parents.

I spent several years with my family in the U.S.A., England and Sweden.

Therefore, in addition to German, I speak fluent English and Swedish and can also accompany you competently in these languages.

Training

I am a Certified birth and postpartum doula and completed my training with Melanie Schöne (DiD.e.V) and Debra Pascali -Bonaro (DONA) in Germany.

I also trained as a breastfeeding counsellor with a leading breastfeeding association in America.

As a trained refugee helper, I also have years of experience in this field.

I have trained with Spinning babies and attended  Rebozo workshops.

As an EDN member and P.R. volunteer I  regularly support and attend  European Doula Network (EDN) Conferences and meetings.

I am also a member and co-founder of the Rhein-Main-Doula network.

We meet regularly to stay up-to-date and share experiences with each other.
